Something borrowed

Know something?Sometimes when I read certain books,I noticed that what was written in them were exactly how I felt.I love those books!!!It is nice to read my own thoughts put into lovely words. And its nice to know that I am not the only one suffering or enjoying certain things in life. Its nice to know that I am not alone, that other people are like me too.Its nice to know that other people is as unpredictable,as sensitive,as nervous,as timid,as depressed,as happy,as bad,as shy,as lacking in confidence as me...I am not alone!!!!

I just finished reading SOMETHING BORROWED BY EMILY GIFFIN and I love it so much.Infact I feel like the heroin herself..(ehem..)well..in a certain way.I am going to buy other Emily Giffin book after this and will also search for the vcd of this movie.I love this storybook so much and I am going to read it again!!!

A summer place

It was one of the days when I wasnt feeling productive and decide to waste my time listening to songs in You Tube when I stumbled upon an instrumental by Percy Faith called 'A SUMMER PLACE'.And I love it very much!!!.In my mind I imagine a hill besides the sea, with soft winds blowing and the sun shinning on the earth.I think I have heard of that song before but couldnt remember when and where.

When I searched in the internet to find out more about this song,I found out that it is based on a movie which is based on a book by Sloan Wilson. And your guess is right,I googled the book and bought one from Abebookstore as a present for my birthday.(yeah..I like to buy present for myself on my birthday).

Actually I was a bit disapointed that the story is more about their kids-a teenagers love story rather than the story of their parents. But still its a good book.It makes me ask myself whether did I ever felt that deep, strong feeling of being in love when I was a teenagers?Hmm..I dont think I ever did fall in love like that.Though I am actually romantic at heart but unfortunately all my previous boyfriends and also my current husband are not.So my love stories were all boring stuff and not worth making a book out of them..hehe.
This book also makes me wonder how it feels like to live alone in an island.I am sure I will be very lonely unless,I am with a person that I truly truly truly love..which I have not met yet.(and dont think I will..hehe)

Sad love stories

Sad ending love story always gives you more emotional impact compared to happy ending ones.Don't you think so?
I have two books in my mind which have make me cry like a baby and feeling so sad for dayssss..(I know I am exaggerating..).
The two books are NIGHTS IN RODANTHE BY NICHOLAS SPARK and THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY BY ROBERT JAMES WALLER.

In both books the couple met and spend time together only once(1 or 2 weeks) in their life time before they got separated and ultimately one of them died.Isnt it soo sad???I mean they are madly, deeply in love and yet out of the many years they have lived they only got to be with each other for few days??I find that so depressing. How do you feel when you have met your true love, then got separated and never see him again?

Memorable quotes from the Bridges of Madison County:
"When a woman makes the choice to marry, to have children; in one way her life begins but in another way it stops. You build a life of details. You become a mother; a wife and you stop and stay steady so that your children can move. And when they leave they take your life of details with them. And then you're expected move again only you don't remember what moves you because no one has asked in so long. Not even yourself. You never in your life think that love like this can happen to you."

Robert: "The old dreams were good dreams; they didn't work out, but glad I had them."
Robert: "Things change. They always do, it's one of the things of nature. Most people are afraid of change, but if you look at it as something you can always count on, then it can be a comfort."

Memorable quotes from Nights in Rodanthe:
Dr. Paul Flanner: We all make choices, Adrienne. You chose that life, you chose that man. Do you even remember who you really are anymore?
Adrienne Willis: When Jack left me, it wasn't just our marriage ending. It was the loss of all the hopes that I'd had for the future. I tried to move on, but the world didn't seem that interested in me anymore. Then you came along, and helped me believe in myself again
Adrienne Willis: I know you've only ever known your father and me. And I love Jack, because he is your father. But there's another kind of love, Amanda. One that gives you the courage to be better than you are, not less than you are. One that makes you feel that anything is possible. I want you to know that you could have that. I want you to hold out for it.

Norwegian Wood

As I am writing this ,I am listening to the song NORWEGIAN WOOD by THE BEATLES.I may not pay attention to this type of song before but after reading the novel of the same title I kinda like the melody and sound of the guitar played by them.

I just finished the book last night.Eventhough it was quite slow at first but towards the end it became more interesting and I couldnt stop from reading it till the end.(ended up sleeping at 12midnight which was an unusual time for me to sleep).
It was quite a sad story about love,sucide,loyalty...The authors words are so beautiful and he can describe everything in detail which makes it easy for you to imagine what he was trying to say..But the ending leaves me in confusion and I wish somebody can let me know.Did he commit suicide too or did he end up suffering mental illness like the others?

Eat Pray Love

I was feeling a bit down after coming back from UK and need to read something for inspiration. So I decided to read EAT PRAY LOVE BY ELIZABERT GILBERT .

It was a good book and it succeeded in inspiring me to do certain things.Incase you dont know this book is about a recently divorced lady who went to Italy to learn its language then to India to meditate/pray and lastly to Bali to seek love.
How does this book inspire me?Well..I have read again and again one of the things you can do to improve your mind is learning a new language. So after reading EAT PRAY LOVE I was so motivated to learn French. One of the reason is that one day I would like to go to this place and also they say French is a romance language(is it?).So after searching for a french language class I finally found one. However the person didnt reply my email and later when I went to the place I found out that he's not around in JB at the moment and the fee is super duper expensive.!!!I dont think I want to spend that much unless I intend to study or work in France. So in the end I settle for free online classes or you tube(whch I always play truant!!) and this free application on my iphone. But wouldnt it be nice to learn with a proper teacher??

I mostly enjoyed reading the part where she in Bali obviously because its where she find her love.I think Bali is a romantic place where you should go with the person you love or with 'girls only' trip(so that you can act like singles!! hehe. After reading it I went and search for places to stay in Bali and look at the pictures of Bali.It is indeed a beautiful place!!How I wish I can go there one day.

Unfortunately like all other books which turn to movies,it was a dissapointment.
So I recommend you read the book and forget about buying the VCD ok.
Will I read this book again??Yes I will, and this time at a slower pace...

Water for elephants

I love reading storybooks...Its one way of an escapism for me.By reading I am immersed in another world,a world where I like to be.
The first english book that I read was one of the Famous Five series-FIVE GOES TO MYSTERY MOOR by Enid Blyton.Although I didnt understand a single word but I continued reading them because I love reading. And as time went by I was hooked with english storybooks especially by Enid Blyton. From the faraway tree to land in the clouds to fairyland,to to the enchanted wood, the land of gnomes, the kids who solve mysteries-Five Find Outers, the life in boarding school of St Claires...I love every single of them!!!Those books took me away from my boring life in Malaysia and bring me to the english countryside.

I did not come from a rich family so the books I have were scarce so I ended up reading whatever I have at home again and again. And if I have extra cash I would buy from the second hand shop.I dont mind at all eventhough the book looks old but what is important is the content.Come to think of it if the book looks old it means that it has been read many times..and I like that..:)

Well..today I just finished the book WATER FOR ELEPHANTS BY SARA GRUEN.
It's about the circus life during the depression era America. It was a bit boring in the beginning probably coz I couldnt imagine what they were talking about.I mean I wasnt brought up in a circus so everything I read sounds foreign to me.There are lots of 'circus words and one of the new word that I've learnt today is menagerie- a place where they kept exotic animals for display.

Its a good book and I couldnt put it down once the story got interesting and intersting. They have made this story to a movie so today I am going to find a VCD of it at JuscoTebrau and also I need to find a new book to read at Popular book store.Hopefully the movie will give the same emotional impact to me as the book and I hope it wont be a dissapointment like Eat Pray Love mobvie..(I will talk about it later)
And as usual after each storybook I will ask myself this question-Will I read this book again?
My answer will be YES!!!You got to read it too...

Oh yes..I remembered one quote by Dorothy Parker:WOMEN AND ELEPHANTS NEVER FORGET...how true it is!!
